January inspiration by Vera Shelemekh

Hey Blue Fern Studios fans! Vera Shelemekh is here for another wonderful creative term :)
Let me write a couple of words about myself for those who has recently joined the blog.

I'm Russian living and working in Moscow - the capital city. I'm a big fan of scrapbooking, papercrafting and quilting. I can't imagine my crafty space without paper and scissors.
Almost all of my layouts are telling stories about my family which consists of two young men: my 6 year old son and my hubby.

Scrapbooking is not only my hobby. It is my job and my lifestyle. I own a small shop on Etsy and occasionally teach people papercrafting.

Last year I started to make my Wedding album with amazing Blue Fern Studios papers and embelishments but I feel like I need more layouts to achieve the goal. So today I will share some new wedding layouts with Remnants papers and printed chipboards.
The first one is experimental as I've never made layouts with huge photos.
I've taken Remnants - Devonshire for the background and embelished it with Remnants printed chipboards, the fence covered with Antique gold embossing powder and leaves covered with Lime and Aocado embossing powder.

With some Meadow seedlings, Apricot and Heartland blossoms and Lace the layout looks full of tender feelings.

The other layout is more brutal, One of the photo locations was a brick wall so I tried to imitate the pattern on the background with the help of Essental Textures stamp and the new Ivory Embossing powder.

To the background I also added butterflies with the Stamp - Garden Frolic

Chipboard butterflies are covered with Soot glitter and Iridescent Grey and Icicle embossing powders

I switched my attention to the amazing Heartland collection which I love with all of my heart.
Heartland - Bicycle for Two and  Red Rose Ball as background and for fussy cutting.

And the Angel is cut from Heartland Love notes. I covered hearts and  vine chipies with the mix of lime and avocado embossing powder. I also added some Mauve seedlings here and there and bits of Lace 3
And of course you have noticed the Fresh florals.

August inspiration by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans.
It's Vera Shelemekh here and I'm happy to share with you some fresh and bright summer inspiration.  I've made a botanic layout with Wanderlust paper and mixed two summer collections in a seaside layout. And for the dessert today are Happy accident chocolate boxes with lace and flowers.

The summer here in Moscow is a bit cold this year, but we had a couple of warm weeks to enjoy the Nature, to wonder with a butterfly net and breathe wonderful floral smells.
For this layout I used Wanderlust - Lakeside as background.

The photo is framed in a frame from Ever After Frame Set covered with avocado embossing powder.

I decorated the layout with many stamped flowers, Damask Flourishes chipboard covered with lime embossing powder, stamped bugs and butterflies and a sweet owl.

"Discover" is the header taken from Wanderlust Words set

I also used the octopus and sea stars from Nautical Set and framed the photo in Wanderlust - Printed Chipboard frame.

May Projects by Vera Shelemekh

Hello Blue Fern Studios fans!
Vera Shelemekh is here. Today is my turn to inspire you with the amazing Happy Accident collection. The self adhesive chipboards are absolutely gorgeous, aren't they? So easy to adhere and fun to play with!

My first layout is telling a summertime story. I even see the sun rays  shining from the right upper corner). I used Happy Accident - Incident paper for the background and a couple of pieces from the self adhesive chipboards set.

Graduated Circles and Chelsea Vines chipboards are covered with acrylic paint and some Mermaid glitter.

I love the combination of bright yellow and blue bubbles and flowers and watercolor birds from the Owls and birds stamps set.

And here is my video tutorial showing how to make this layout. I hope you will find it useful.

Mixing it Up ~ Sandi's December Projects!

Hello, Blue Fern visitors!
Sandi here with you today sharing my 3 December projects.
It's so hard to grasp that 2015 is almost over!

"Memories"

First up is a layout using the Vintage Christmas collection. I used a variety of papers as listed below and then built my background with super heavy gesso, a stencil and Imagine Ink mists in Persimmon, Cotton Candy and Leaf.

My Clip Frame was treated with Cotton Candy mist and then heat embossed using both Petal and Poinsettia. The Berry Stem on the left was misted with Imagine Ink in Leaf and variegated with a random ink pad. The Blooming Foliage peeking from beneath the photo was treated the same. A few microbeads were added to both for more texture.

The Garden Lattice Bits were misted with Cotton Candy and then randomly embossed with Petal and Poinsettia.  You can also see I've used a snippet of the Blooming Foliage tucked into my cluster.

One last close-up

"Dream"

I love scrapping with purple! And since I haven't had a lot of opportunity to use the DejaVu collection yet, I took this time to do so.
(Love this early ingenue photo of Lucille Ball, 1930s. Photo credit to Tumblr, original photographer unknown.)

The spectacular Circle Vine Frame seemed the perfect choice to add a little drama to my layout. It was coated with gesso, then misted with Imagine Ink in Jingle Bells. I did a little random embossing with a clear powder and then added in some purple with one of my gelatos.

The Framington Medley was treated the same and used as a background layer. To emphasize my photo, I used color around the Circle Vine Frame and mixed in some microbeads as well.

You can see some of my stamping in the background using the Garden Frolic stamp.

I used more of the gelato color to create an ombre look on my Dream title. I finished the page with some random paint splattering.

"Merry"

Here I am again using the Vintage Christmas collection. I've tried to photograph this layout multiple times and cannot seem to capture it's true appearance. IRL, it is so sparkly and pretty!
The background was treated with gesso and Imagine Ink in Winter Mint.
This LO is based on the December sketch and is of one of my grandsons with a great-granddad, so sweet.

The Holiday Frame was misted with our Leaf mist and then blinged up with our Lucky embossing Powder! The shine is gorgeous! I've tucked in some fussy cut flowers.

The Wood Ornament was treated with Petal and Poinsettia embossing Powders. A bow and flower finish it off!
I used one of the Halftone Stamps around the outer edge of my layout for depth and interest.

I added some personal touches with cheesecloth, peals and flair.
