Win or learn, never lose

Hello everyone!  Today we have another beautiful card from our August Blue Fern Fan of the month, Mariusz Gierszewski.  His style is so elegant.  With its rich tones, this card reminds me that autumn is not far away!

For this card, Mariusz used paper from our Happy Accident Collection.  The flowers and leaves are handmade using stamps.  The background paper was cut using a die, giving the card an interesting look, and adding texture.

Mariusz added a frame and title from the Happy Accident Printed Chipboard Shapes to the center of the card.

Be sure to stop back next Wednesday when we will have another project from Mariusz!

August Layouts by Catherine Giguère

Hello Blue Fern Studios Fans!
Here's my turn to share with you two new layouts and a video tutorial. This month, I had so much fun with the gorgeous Wanderlust paper collection.

"Merveilleux"

For this layout, I used the Wanderlust "Petites" paper as background. I put a coat of clear gesso on it and I added texture by applying modeling paste through a stencil. Then, I applied yellow inks and I stamped many details with BFS stamps and brown ink.

I left my chipboards (BFS Whimsy Flourishes and Natural Frame) raw but I put a little bit of white gesso dilued with water on them.

I also left my title raw and I add beads around the flowers to add texture.

I did a video tutorial of this layout, you can watch it here:

"Magnifique"

For this layout, I used Wanderlust 'Ocean Voyage' paper. I wanted to do a beachy layout. First, I did a textured background with modeling paste, stencil, aqua and mint inks, stamps and brown ink.

I glued a piece of net on my background with medium gel. I embossed my BFS chipboards Trailing Scrolls with BFS Imagine ink Seafoam embossing powder and the BFS Swallow Border with BFS Imagine Ink Sea Mist embossing powder. Then,  I aged them with brown paste.

I embossed my title 'Magnifique' (BFS French Adjectives 1 chipboards) with BFS Imagine Ink Black Sand to make it stand out.

I add beads and shells to complete the beachy look.

A Fairy Good Life

The second project from our August Blue Fern Fan of the Month, Mariusz Gierszewski, is this very soft and magical layout.  Mariusz has beautifully used the frame of the paper as the base for this lovely design.  The chipboard, flowers and fussy cutting create a very eye-pleasing design for this sweet infant photo.

Here is what Maruisz had to say about this layout:

Another work in which I could bring you closer shabby style. I prepared at the begining chipboards by embossing powder and cut many emablishments from other papers. After that I start to build composition of fabric flowers in the corner and more or less oposite/middle side. On the top flowers I add the gesso. On the end I add few printed chipboard pieces from collection the all corners, and to decorate layout. Balance and harmony formed an integral whole.

August Inspiration by Babi

Hi Everyone,

Today it's my turn to share with you my new projects using gorgeous Wanderlust and Amber & Apricot collections.

For the first, I used Memento and Pacific Coast papers for a project which I named "Fun Times".

To add texture, I used stencil and Distress on the main paper. Then, I stamped a few images  with  Departure Stamp.

The Natural Frame chipboard was covered with Snow Embossing Powder.

I used Lace 4,  Spring Lilies and Wanderlust Printed Chipboard to decorate the rest of the layout.

I finished the layout by adding microbeads, gesso and other embellies.

The background was created by gluing  Road Trip and Lakeside paper,  also from the Wanderlust collection.

Then, I added some texture with stencil, modeling paste, watercolor paint  and Tattered Newsprint stamp.

To create the layers, I used Ocean Voyage and Calling Cards PapersThen, proceed to emboss the the Fading Bloom and Grid Pieces chipboards with  Avocado and Snow embossing powder.

Afterwards, I added some gel and seedlings Twing and Green Leaf.

To finish the project, I used flowers from Apricot Blooms, Wanderlust Lilies and Chesterville Blooms.

I decided to finish my monthly inspiration with two cute cards from the new collection Amber & Apricot.  I trully love this collection and so far it is one of my favorite: very girly, delicate and with a hint of Fall.

I used Flora, Birdsong and Joyful papers to create my first card.  Then, I added some texture with stencil and modeling paste.

I added Lace 6Apricot Blooms and some leaves that I die cut with Ocean Voyage paper (Wanderlust collection).

This beautiful title is a stamp called Sweet Titles (Amber & Apricot) that I heat embossed with Antique Gold

On my second card I used  Tweet MelodySunny Disposition, Flora, and Joyful papers.

Then, I decorated it with some leaves and flowers that I "fussy cut" from Flora paper. Next, I added some Apricot Blooms (it's a must have) and this gorgeous title is from Amber and Apricot Printed Chipboard.

August projects by Tartine Peluche

Hi everyone!
I'm back today for share with you a few inspiration for the new collection''WANDERLUST'' from Blue Fern Studios, and also one layout from ''GARDEN LIFE''
Two wonderful collections!!!

PLAYGROUND

My first layout is created from the paper ''MOUNTAIN VIEW'' I used side B.

At first I stamped several parts of the stamp '' DEPARTURE''
I put the accent on green and brown on my background to bring out my photo, unfortunately, we don't see very well, it was rather pale initially.

At the top of my page, I used WANDERLUST VINE and LACE 4 with a piece of WHIMSY FLOURISH chipboard to start my layout.
WHIMSY FLOURISH was embossed with HOT COCOA embossing powder.

I used a piece of LACE 3 to separate the background from my photo.

In order, starting from the bottom, we can see a piece of
WHIMSY FLOURISH embossed with HOT COCOA embossing powder.
Then a part of chipboard CORNER FLOURISH embossed with AVOCADO embossing powder
and on the top, under the picture, I used SWALLOW BORDER,
also embossed with  HOT COCOA embossing powder .
The small boat, it is I who did it, with some pieces of wood found outside.

I cut the title in two. I wanted to use both parts but I could'nt find
the good place for the second piece. What gives only as title: PLAYGROUND.
I used the embossing powder SUMMER BREEZE.

Here is in close-up the effect rendered by this magnificent chipboard.

To finish this layout, here in close-up the flowers I used, from the kits WANDERLUST LILIES and WANDERLUST VINE.
We don't see very well but I put on all flowers a little bit of MELTED BUTTER glitter.

Products I used:
PAPER:
Mountain View
CHIPBOARDS:
SWALLOW BORDER
NATURE'S PLAYGROUND
WHIMSY FLOURISHES
CORNER FLOURISH
EMBOSSING POWDER:
AVOCADO
HOT COCOA
SUMMER BREEZE
GLITTER:
MELTED BUTTER
STAMPS:
DEPARTURE
LACE:
LACE 3
LACE 4

----------------------------------------------------------

SETTING SAIL
For the second layout, I used side B of LAKESIDE paper.

For my background: white gesso, ink and glitter.
I maked flakes with RUSSETT glitter and I added just a little shiny with VINTAGE JADE glitter.
All this makes the LACE 4 more showy.

I used the chipboard NATURAL FRAME to accentuate my photo.
It was embossed with STORMY SKIES embossing powder.

We see more the chipboard NATURAL FRAME on this picture.
Let's talk about the majestic flowers ... I'm in love with the WANDERLUST LILIES flowers!!!

SETTING SAIL was embossed with HOT COCOA embossing powder.
Really beautiful color!!!

Here is a close-up of photo part.

To finish, I used patterned rings from WANDERLUST PATTERNED CHIPBOARD.
They are beautiful, repeating the wooden pattern of the paper I used.

PRODUTS I USED:
PAPER:
LAKESIDE
CHIPBOARD:
NATURAL FRAME
SETTING SAIL
EMBOSSING POWDER:
HOT COCOA
STORMY SKIES
GLITTER:
VINTAGE JADE
RUSSETT
LACE:
LACE 3
LACE 4

-------------------------------------------------------------------

And here is my last one:

BE A PINEAPPLE ...

I used a paper from the collection Garden life for this one: SUN KISSED.

For the background, pieces of chipboard QUILTED PAGE PANEL, ink, modeling paste and white gesso ... a lot of gesso! to fade my colors ultra flash. I rarely use colors also showy...
Look like these beautiful flowers! They are from kit GARDEN BLOOMS.

WILD FLOURISH BUNDLE was embossed with BABY PINK embossing powder.

I used SUNLIGHT ROSE embossing powder on my piece of LAYERING STEMS chipboard and peach ATTIC CHARM DAISIES.

Products I used:

Introducing our August Blue Fern Fan of the Month

Hello everyone.  It's difficult to believe that it is August already.  But with each new month, we get an opportunity to introduce you to a new Blue Fern Fan of the Month.  For the month of August, please join us in welcoming Mariusz Gierszewski from Poland.  He is a fabulous designer and you will love  how he uses our products.  You are sure to be inspired!

We will turn it over to Mariusz so he can tell you a little about himself:

My name is Mariusz Gierszewski. I come from Poland. I'm 26 years old and I'm young men who love papers, flowers and scissors. I live in Łodź in central Poland. My passions are scrapbooking, and card making.  Recently I tried to create something with mixed media.

First work I ever made was in August, 2012. My favorite styles are vintage and shabby. Blue Fern products are awesome for my shabby style. I love to make cards and albums, sometimes layouts.  I have been an educator and designer for several manufacturers.  I hold a lot of workshops each month in many countries like Spain, Latvia, Greece, Indonesia, Brasil, Sweden, Norway or Slovakia.

In my cards I try to show as much value as possible to the collection of paper. For this card I used the Garden Life collection.  These papers are awesome for shabby style and to the vintage look you can see on my cards.

I cut some flowers from papers and make the composition with 3D effect.
Afther that I attached fabric flowers from Garden Florals and Dark Tropic Lilies.  At the end I used
gesso to reduce intensive color.  In this way I receive soft and shabby effect.

Please be sure to check back next Wednesday when we will have another project from Mariusz.
